Here comes CHRONIXX

BY KEVIN JACKSON Observer Writer

ROOTS singer Chronixx got an instant bump after the hype arounnd his performance on the top-rated Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

There was a surge in sales for his Dread & Terrible EP and the single Here Comes Trouble just hours after his July 22 performance on the NBC show was announced.

The cut-off period for chart and sales tabulation ended on July 20. Up to that point, the Phillip ‘Winta’ James- produced Here Comes Trouble had registered 1,051 downloads in comparison to just 99 the previous week.

The figure sent the track flying back onto Billboard’s Digital Reggae Singles chart at number 19. To date, it has sold 6,328 copies.

Released April 1, Dread & Terrible contains 10 tracks including Alpha & Omega, Here Comes Trouble, Capture Land and Eternal Fire.

It topped Billboard’s Reggae Album chart in April. To date, it has sold 2,698 copies digitally.

On this week’s Billboard chart, it moved from 10 to number three. Approximately 92 copies were sold two weeks ago but it sold 367 copies last week.

With Chronixx’s appearance on the late-night programme, it is expected sales for both will experience a bigger boost.

Steel Pulse, Ziggy Marley, Damian Marley, Shaggy and Tessanne Chin are the reggae acts who previously performed on the Tonight Show
