Big Mountain Dub Club program celebrates the history, meaning, and influence of reggae music across the globe. The show is curated and hosted by reggae legend, Quino Arias McWhinney. He is the founder and lead vocalist of chart-topping reggae band, Big Mountain, who are best known for their hit song, “Baby I Love Your Way”
The first is a featured guest interview with renown artists or figures within the reggae industry. The second is a performance by one of the world’s leading and contemporary reggae sound system DJ’s. The show wraps up with a roundtable discussion that is co-moderated by Quino and Dr. John D. Márquez (a scholar who specializes in politics, race, and music) and that brings together artists, other scholars, and activists to discuss the political value and social salience of important themes or moments in the history of reggae.
