Easy Star Celebrating 10 Years of “Radiodread”

Easy Star All-Stars are coming up on the 10th anniversary of their acclaimed Radiohead cover album, Radiodread. To celebrate, Easy Star Records has announced a special edition re-release of their 2006 album. The release is scheduled for August 12th, 2016.

As an early treat, they’ve dropped a new cover of Radiohead’s hit song “High And Dry,” featuring special guest vocals from Grammy Award-winning group Morgan Heritage.

“High And Dry” is the first new music released by Easy Star All-Stars in nearly 4 years, and will be included on the special edition release. In addition to the new single, the group recently put out a Gentleman’s Dub Club remix of their classic cover of “Karma Police” featuring Citizen Cope. The British 9-piece dub masters add some serious spice to the original take.

Easy Star All-Stars are practically synonymous with innovative covers. The reggae collective turned heads with their 2003 album Dub Side of the Moon, which cleverly spun Pink Floyd‘s historic Dark Side of the Moon into a reggaefied masterpiece. Since then, Easy Star All-Stars have created unique versions of a number of other legendary albums, including Radiohead’s OK Computer, The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and Thriller by Michael Jackson. Radiodread, the band’s 2nd album together, featured star guests such as Toots & The Maytals, Israel Vibration, Morgan Heritage, and Mad Professor.

Beginning July 1st, Easy Star All-Stars will be touring throughout the UK, also performing at select festivals in Europe. The band plans for their Radiodread material to be in heavy rotation on the tour. Label-mates New Kingston will also join the group overseas for the tour.

Pre-orders for the special edition re-release will be available early this month, and U.S. tour dates are expected to be announced in the near future!
