Jamaican dancehall artist was arrested at the Hyatt Hotel  in Trinidad under the Absconding Debtors Act.  It was reported that the promoters, Peppers Entertainment paid the artist a sum of U$37,000 as performance fee for a concert in May 2013.  That concert was later cancelled.  However the artist had agree to perform at a later date.

The documents further indicated that Busy Signal did not perform at the rescheduled concert nor did he return the U$37,000 to the promoters.

In a court hearing Justice Rahim ordered the artist to pay U$15,000 immediately with  balance to be paid within thirty days.  Busy Signal was later released by the authorities.
